I have been here all morning analysing the bloody graph for my assignment when at 3am, the staff of McDonald's were going around hanging up a new advertisement for their latest (it wasn't here the day before, cos I was) product - The McGriddle. The name sounded familiar and I didn't know exactly why until I got to try it. It tasted like Otah (weird I know...) on my first bite but then I realised that the pancake buns had syrup in them. Then the memory flooded back in, about 5 years ago, this friend of mine was raving about this very same thing that they had in the US and told me I was missing out. Now, I shall agree that I've been missing out.
So what's a McGriddle? Imagine a sausage McMuffin (with or without the egg) on two fat fluffy pancakes instead of an English muffin. And as mentioned before, the pancakes have syrup in them. So a slightly sweetened, and much more moist, sausage McMuffin.
Well some people might be turned off by the strange sweet and savoury combination, but if they keep it to the very first one I ate, I'll be in love with it for a long time.
