Amid all the excitement about the first F1 GP Night Race in Singapore, there has also been a lot done regarding the safety for the drivers and spectators of the event. Barricades have been put up, roads have been repaved, manhole covers have been changed, and flood lights have been put up all along the race track.
Even with all the work put in to make everything as safe as possible, safety concerns still arise and most of it has to do with the weather during the race. As it will be the annual monsoon season with heavy rain, team managers and drivers are concerned as to how safe the track would be, as this will be their first time racing on the track.
Well isn't the whole point of racing taking a big risk? The risk that your driver will be able to handle the car in any situation at high speeds? I'm sure there are ways in which those people prepare before a race, and I'm sure everyone has had his first on one track or another.
Now that it's getting much closer to the race, the lights are being tested on the race route and I think the drivers shouldn't be concerned about the road or weather conditions. They should, however, be concerned about going blind, and might need sunglasses while racing here. :p
