Pyjama Party

Day 30: What you wear to bed.

This one is easy. It really depends on the company I'm with. It ranges from nothing, to full battle gear? Hahaha, not really, but nothing to shirt-&-shorts-combo. So if I'm at home, with just my mom, I'm usually naked under the covers especially when it's soooo hot I'd give anything to sleep in a pool.

In hotels, definitely clothes on. It's air-conditioned rooms anyway, so I won't be complaining that it's too hot.

Then there are days when I'm just so tired that I can't even get out of my clothes and end up sleeping in what I worked it, with a few loosened buttons and zippers.

Bing Bang Boom!

Day 28: Respond to the poem you posted yesterday with a poem of your own.

In the Ning Nang Ning Nang Nong
They'd celebrate anytime of the year
Without a need of gong
Heard from the mountains to the pier.

Bing Bang Boom
Fireworks mushroom
Boom Bing Bang
Pretty loud the choir sang
Bang Boom Bing
They would all dance in a ring

And end it off with a big Bing Bang BOOM!

Poem I Love

Day 27: Post a poem (written by someone else) that you love.

On the Ning Nang Nong

On the Ning Nang Nong
Where the Cows go Bong!
and the monkeys all say BOO!

There's a Nong Nang Ning
Where the trees go Ping!
And the tea pots jibber jabber joo.

On the Nong Ning Nang
All the mice go Clang
And you just can't catch 'em when they do!

So its Ning Nang Nong
Cows go Bong!
Nong Nang Ning
Trees go ping
Nong Ning Nang
The mice go Clang
What a noisy place to belong
is the Ning Nang Ning Nang Nong.

Day 22: Picture "Stranger"

I Find You Attractive

Day 21: The kind of person attracts you.

So if you're a mixture of the 3 people in this post, you might just be the one.

Add to that a nice, pinchable arse, and a smile that sports a dimple, and you probably got me at hello.

But on a slightly more serious note (yeah right), if a guy has a fringe that is longer than mine, spends more time infront of the mirror than I do, or has more cosmetic products than I do... no matter how macho you might be, it's still a turnoff.

Get your hair short and neat, do dress like you give a damn but don't over-do it on the cologne and hair gel/wax. Be in touch with your feminine side, but please don't jump on my back should a roach sneak past your foot, just step and kill the damn thing!

Oh, and chivalry is always appreciated but NEVER EVER offer to carry a girly handbag should I ever have one. Just place it on the floor with the rest of the shopping between your legs or something.

Friendships

Day 20: Quote about friendship

2 quotes, basically it's all about trust.

"A friend will tell you to your face what others are saying behind your back"

"It's not about people who act true to your face. It's about the people who remain true behind your back"

10 Things You Now Know About Me

Day 19: Ten things about you that people wouldn’t expect.

  1. Most probably know I like animals, some animals I even love, and some I might have an obsession with. But there's one I dislike a lot and it's Chimpanzees. Don't know why I dislike them, never have a bad experience with them personally either. They just creep me out and I find them gross.
  2. The animal (stuffed) I have an obsession with is the elephant. Not just any elephant, a BLUE ELEPHANT. it's due to a toy I had when I was really young, but I could remember that it's trunk would rotate after you pulled and released it tail. Some music would play but I can't remember the tune. Don't think I can ever get that toy back, but I love them elephants I have.
  3. I enjoy cooking, but I don't exactly like baking. I find baking too restricted. You need a recipe and follow it. I won't say that if you don't follow a recipe it will turn out crap, but most of that time, it does. Sometimes if you're lucky, you get a good recipe out of experimenting with baking. So everyone that thinks I want to start a bakery, I don't. I would, however, prefer to start a cafe with a daily special that I would be able to create with the best ingredients of the day.
  4. Don't let my size fool you. It's all just cushioning for all the weak bits inside.
  5. I love making coffee, but I prefer drinking tea. Maybe it's the higher caffeine levels, maybe it's the bigger choice of flavours, or that you can mix it with almost anything.
  6. My favourite are blueberries and I don't like strawberries. I rather eat raspberries or blackberries than strawberries.
  7. On the subject of fruits... I definitely don't like artificial fruit flavourings, syrups or fragrances. I prefer spices and herbs - Cinnamon, Vanilla, Ginger. MMMmmmmmmm....
  8. I've got a strange fear when it comes to heights. I'm not afraid if I'm high up enough that if I should fall from that place, I will die. I am fearful of the height that leaves me wondering if I will die or be left handicapped should I fall. So that's to say, if I fall, I rather die than break my leg or whatever.
  9. I prefer having my gadgets separate, for their own functions. That's probably why I'm not interested in an iPhone. It might be easier to travel with a singles gadget, but if you lose that one gadget, you basically lose a lot of stuff too.
  10. I'm retarded when it comes to sharpening knives with a sharpening stone. I sharpen it, and then I just make it blunt again. I know... retarded.

Oh Like We Used To

Day 18: Pick a one line song lyric to serve as an epigraph to your poem. Then, write the poem to accompany it.

String rubberbands to play a game
Chalk the floor to do the same
Walk barefoot in the drain
And dance with umbrellas in the rain
At the playground we would play
As the adults gambled away
Simple everything that we do
Oh like we used to

Why Bother?

Day 17: Your opinion on cheating on people.

If you find someone who you're interested in while you're attached, I don't see why one would rather go behind their partner's back just to explore this other person, than to just say, "I really don't know about us as I seem to find I'm attracted to other people still.". Isn't the whole point about having a relationship to explore more about the other person so that you can make sure that they're the one?

However, if you're already married, then seriously what is wrong? Is there something lacking in the marriage? Or is it because they other person did a 180 degree flip in character and personality once all the papers were signed? Or is it the little bit of extra attention you get from the 3rd party?

Well if it's that little bit of attention, then I guess it's time to stop with the hints and just say tell it straight to their face. Well, I personally don't like people beating around the bush and dropping hints. Sometimes hints don't make sense or can make situations much more confusing. If you want something, just say it.

Basically in my books, there's no excuse for cheating. It's a choice, and if you made it, you live with the consequences.

Have You Seen My Childhood?

Day 16: Picture “Childhood”

Ooooh The Memories!

Thursday, December 15, 2011

Back In The Day

Day 15: Write a narrative poem detailing a specific childhood memory.

We would take a short ride
To my grandparent's place to play
With lots of places to hide
Back in the day

Sometimes we'd get tired
That's where we'll stay
And dream of what we desired
Back in the day

Up early every morning
Grandma would get up and pray
And we'd still be yawning
Back in the day

As we grew old
We'd visit on the way
Listen to stories neighbours told
Back in the day

Then came dismay
The land had to make way
We had to move away
From back in the day

Mi Familia

Day 14: Your family.

  1. We're a head-turning group when we walk down the street together. (I don't know if it's good or bad though)
  2. We fight with each other, but we'll kill you should you pick a fight with any of us. (Especially if dad is the one watching on the side... be afraid... be very afraid)
  3. My parents are the best.
  4. We would probably hoard all strays if not for government rules and mom's nagging.
  5. We, however, get pets with the weirdest characters which makes us love them even more.
  6. Mom was dad's superior at work. (That's how they met)
  7. We cook... and do it well. (That's how dad got hooked, and also the reason why we're all that big!)
  8. We're so famous, we've got roads, schools and luggages with our names on it!

We Are Family....

Day 13: Quote about family

"In truth a family is what you make it. It is made strong, not by number of heads counted at the dinner table, but by the rituals you help family members create, by the memories you share, by the commitment of time, caring, and love you show to one another, and by the hopes for the future you have as individuals and as a unit."

Wake Up And Smell The BS

Day 12: The meaning behind your blog url/title

It was a line I used to tell this classmate of mine who had her head in the clouds most of the time, adapted from the line "wake up and smell the roses". However, as I found roses to be too nice for the point to be put across, I told her to wake up and smell the bullshit. So because of that, whenever I wanted certain people to realise that the world doesn't revolve around them alone, and that a perfect world doesn't exist, I kept to using that line.

I guess I wanted to keep it real, so therefore I used it as my URL. It's a very good reminder to myself not to get my head too far up in the clouds or up my arse either.

The title, on the other hand, came about a while later, while trying to figure out what I wanted this blog to be about. I felt it wasn't to tell people off, or tell everyone to get real. Rather, the blog was a kind of release of tension, a kind of therapy for my own mental health. It didn't really come about as I was sipping on tea, but more on some plan (probably evil) that was bubbling in my head. At first "bubbling" felt too airy and so it ended up as brewing, which could also refer to the process of making coffee/tea - which I love.

Don't try to bother understanding what goes through my mind. Sometimes I don't even know really.

What Do I Take The Picture With?

Day 11: Your Camera In The Photo

I've got a few missing....

Me Me ME!

Day 10: Quote that describes you

"Libra's magnetic personalities often attract the weirdest people"

It seriously seems true in m life. but I'm not sure if I've got a magnetic personality really.

But I think the following tells more about my attitude:

"After a while, you learn to ignore the names people call you, and just trust who you are."

Happy Place For Happy Meals!

Day 9: Where is your "happy place"?

My mom could blog about this because she knows for a fact that the Supermarket is my happy place. I go there to cool off, from he heat, as well as from getting pissed off with idiots. It's the place I visit should I need inspiration, when I can't think straight, when I'm sad, angry, happy, bored... whatever!

Great thing is, my happy place isn't imaginary and I can go there anytime I want... and find it in almost any country! Yeeeeaaah!

Cleaning The Mind

Day 8: Imagine yourself doing any household task/chore, then write a poem using what you’ve imagined as an extended metaphor for writing.

Starting off clean and white,
Cleaning off every thought in my head.
Ink scurrying over paper like a little mite
The clog is clear, my mind is off to bed.

These Are A Few Of My Favourite Things

Day 7: Picture "Your Favourite...."

Tuesday, December 06, 2011

Yeah, Whatever!

Day 6: Do you care about what people think of you? Why is this?

No.

"Those that matter don't mind, and those that mind don't matter."

I think this quote sums it all up. People always have their opinions, and most of the time it's because they can't accept what they have in front of them in the first place.

If not for the fact that I grew up with a good supportive foundation, I probably would care about what people think of me, and most likely go mad from it.

Luckily, I was thought about another quote:

"Sticks and Stones may break my bones, but Words can never hurt me."

So I just didn't give about what people thought of me. It's also a great way to see if someone is truly your friend, or just one of those you throw into the acquaintance bin. Just like the case where someone told me they wanted to revamp my wardrobe. Well I didn't ask you to, and I don't intend to ever let you. Now I don't even wanna bother going out with that person. Nothing lost there really.

Land, Sea or Air?

Day 5: If you could be an animal, which one would you be and why?

I think I'd be an Owl. It seems similar to what I am now. Chilling in the day, wide awake at night. Plus, I would have wings and could fly to where ever I want. I just hope I don't end up in a bird park or zoo.

Sunday, December 04, 2011

Click..Click.. Snap!

Day 4: Three pictures of yourself.

I'm sooo not the type to take photos on myself unless I absolutely love the place and am visiting on my own. So would you expect me to have 3 pictures with my face in it? Anyway, have fun gagging at my purple toe. Hahahaha

Saturday, December 03, 2011

All My Life....

Day 3: Tell your life story in 6 words.

This one was quite tough, but I think I only complicated stuff for myself. Hahaha. So my final answer is:

Been Fun. Looking Forward To Future.

Friday, December 02, 2011

C.H.R.I.S.T.I.A.N.A.

Day 2: Write a poem where each line starts with a letter from your first name. It can be about anything, but it should not be about you or your name.

Hope you have a laugh:

Chocolate... chocolate... milk, dark and white,
Hazelnuts, peanuts help give them a bite.
Research says it makes you gay,
It will simply just sweeten your day.
Semi sweet chips or chunky couverture,
They fit in cookies or can be giant sculptures.
It can be simple or it can be bold
And some even have real flecks of Gold!
Now it's time to sit back and relax,
And enjoy a box of chocolates before they melt like wax.

No Action, Talk Only

There comes a point where people who just keep talking and talking end up being thought of as useless as the everyone knows it's easy to speak out. Ask that same big mouth to do it, and it won't get done as actually moving their arse to get it done will zap them of their full tank of energy. They will, however, spend that little bit of energy, raising their hands to point a finger to assign someone else to get it done... and amazingly this movement can be done faster than their big mouth can open.

Then there are people who say they will do it, and in the end, they do get it done, or get it done too bloody late. Why bother really, if you can't do it or won't do it in the first place, don't make promises. Don't offer something you can't deliver, and if you did, at least APOLOGISE to those you've let down. Don't just pretend nothing happened, or that no one informed you, or that you didn't get the messages when you can reply to a later message pertaining to the same item.

If you get things done, but much later than the deadline, don't expect people to use your idea, especially one that has no link to the project. Don't think just because it's an interesting idea that we HAVE to use your idea. If it is submitted late, it might as well not have been submitted at all. And why so? Because the whole project might have been completed by the time your submission was given, and why should anyone change the whole project just to fit your CUT & PASTE idea?

Well the good thing out of all this is that there is a presentation to be done. Presentation means you have to talk it all out. Since that is your speciality dear NATO members, the 2 of you can point the fingers at each other and try to figure out who should do it. Sadly, I won't be there to watch you talk your arses off, but then again, none of you bother to even get the presentation from me.

Oh Well..... Think I should join the club and just talk about passing the presentation off to someone, but then don't bother doing that either.

Monday, November 21, 2011

Excuse Me?

"I think I should go HQ myself later, just don't want to quarrel with you anymore and I just giving suggestion and please take it easy."

You think that I would even think of bothering to pick you up on the way to HQ after you piss me off with the shit you said?

In the first place, if you don't want to listen to what people have to say and still insist that your idea is so good, then forget about me listening to you trying to push your great idea. Insisting that your idea should be in the presentation is not GIVING SUGGESTIONS. Don't try to cut me off by telling me "it's up to you". If it was up to me I wouldn't need any of YOUR SUGGESTIONS or FEEDBACK. If it was up to me, it would have been done a week before as I wouldn't need to make bloody appointments to get photos taken. I wouldn't need to host people at my outlet and end up having people give NOTHING after a week to think of 9 ideas when we needed 15.

But it is not up to me, and it is a GROUP PROJECT. A group project with 5 people who needed 15 ideas, but only 3 actually did write some ideas down. You just shot out ideas on the fly. Another one just made a joke or complaint out of everything. If it was up to me, that useless bugger would be doing the presentation. If it was up to me, the photo shoot would not have missing ingredients. If it was up to me, I wouldn't even bother taking so much photos of food as it wasn't part of the project.

If you haven't realised by now that we are supposed to work as a group, to help each other out and not just ASSUME that the just because I'm good with words or the powerpoint program that everything will miraculously get done on time. Did anyone even bother doing the part of the project that is also just as important as the presentation? Did anyone realise that without the costing, all the ideas might as well go down the drain?

By the way, there wasn't a quarrel to begin with. I just put the phone down when you pissed me off because I rather not say anything than to spoil my day saying shit to you out of anger.

Don't even tell me to take it easy when you don't even begin to understand the amount of shit I had to go through trying to put the presentation together in a day without having proper information. Then with NO support from GROUP members that don't even help by answering a simple question. If we needed 5 ideas, and each one came up with one, we would have 5. But in the end, I got only 2 at the end of the day, another idea hours past the time I should have been sleeping. So that again leaves that 1 person that doesn't seem to do much, or in this case, NOTHING AT ALL!

"U give suggestion but did u bother thinking how to even link to the whole group idea? Judging by what me & eileen came up the first time, it was obvious we had to do 5 promo, 5 drinks and 5 coffees. The the reason why we come up with food is to tie it to the promo. Talk easy, anyone bother to even ask if I needed help with the presentation? No one even bother to do costing. Had to ask u to do at the table then get it done. Ask for promo idea some ppl dun even reply. Might as well make it a one man show. If really up to me then why is it we're split into groups? Seriously, is it really a group project? Or a project to take it for granted someone will get every damn thing done and hand it in on time. Worse still u all know I have the weekly report to compile and can't even cooperate and hand it in on time. Now u tell me to chill?! Try walking in my shoes for just yesterday and u see if you need to chill after what u just said."

Experience Doesn't Come With Age

You might think just because you've worked in the industry that you've seen everything and know everything. I can say for sure that no matter how much experience and wisdom you have and can impart, that you did it the wrong way today. Yes the place was messy when you came, and yes it wasn't cleared immediately. However, to say that it was because I lack the skills or I didn't communicate with my staff, I definitely take offense to that.

After observing what goes on for about 10 minutes did you only realise that he doesn't do what naturally comes to people in this industry. Yes, after a month of working in this place, that idiot still doesn't do what he's supposed to do. Rather, washing up the things in the sink are more important than clearing everything into the bin or sink first. Is it because I haven't said that we should clean up the place a.s.a.p.? Or is it because he thinks it's not important?

How is it Aunty would do it automatically once she's free, but he doesn't? Does it have to be in black and white for him to get things done? Think about it. The problem with the landlord only started after he arrived. When Aunty was always opening the store there was NEVER one complaint. Once he started, then the calls to you from the landlord came.

Don't blame me, find the problem. So now you know what the problem is, what are YOU going to do about it?

As for your advice to find staff, I'll find my part-time crew. I'll find what I need. When I do, I hope you do your part, and remove the problem. We'll see if you get more calls from the landlord then.

Talking about advice, really what kind of advice is telling me to just instruct him what to do? Does it really help the problem? I know if I'm not there, nothing will get done. Well, you want me to give the idiot shit, I'll give the idiot shit. Don't blame me if you lose another staff, but then again, no one really wants to work with him anyway.

Fascinating

Eddie once told me that watching women get dressed is a fascinating experience. Well, personally, I've been watching women get dressed at home and I didn't really understand what he meant at the time.

It only hit me just now what he meant by fascinating when I was watching Adi & Vaan get ready to go clubbing. Even if it was just styling their hair, there's something about the way they tease and tweak their hair into the styles they want. And I think it's more about the attention being paid to every detail that gets interesting to watch.

So maybe now I've got a new subject for photos? Hmmm....

Considering This For The Next Challenge

I definitely have to find out more about poetry before I start this one, but it looks really fun and I'm sure will end up with some weird results. So anyone up for this 30-Day Poetry Challenge??

Day 1- Write a poem where each line starts with a letter from your first name (an acrostic). It can be about anything, but it should not be about you or your name.

Day 2- Who was the last person you texted? Write a five line poem to that person.

Day 3- Find the nearest book (of any kind). Turn to page 8. Use the first ten full words on the page in a poem. You may use them in any order, anywhere in the poem.

Day 4- Write a haiku. They’re often about nature, but yours can be about anything.

Day 5- Write a three line poem about lemons without using the following words: lemon, yellow, round, fruit, citrus, tart, juicy, peel, and sour.

Day 6- Write a poem of any length incorporating every word from your latest Facebook status.

Day 7- Take a walk until you find a tree you identify with, then write a poem using the tree as a metaphor for yourself or your life.

Day 8- Write a cinquain on a topic of your choice.

Day 9- Quickly jot down four verbs, four adjectives, and four nouns. Write a poem using all 12 words.

Day 10- Pick a one line song lyric to serve as an epigraph to your poem. Then, write the poem to accompany it.

Day 11- Write a list poem.

Day 12- Tell your life story in 6 words.

Day 13- Write a short poem that a child would like.

Day 14- Write a bad poem, make it as lousy as you can, do everything wrong, let yourself be awful.

Day 15- Post a poem (written by someone else) that you love (for any reason).

Day 16- Respond to the poem you posted yesterday with a poem of your own.

Day 17- Write a poem that employs a rhyme scheme.

Day 18- Write a poem without any end rhyme, only internal rhyme.

Day 19- Imagine yourself doing any household task/chore, then write a poem using what you’ve imagined as an extended metaphor for writing.

Day 20- Write a narrative poem detailing a specific childhood memory.

Day 21- Choose one of the poems you’ve already written and posted as part of this challenge and re-order it in some way. You could rearrange the lines or stanzas or even words in a line. Think of it as a puzzle!

Day 22- What is the first car you bought/drove/remember? Write a poem about it.

Day 23- Write a seven line poem that begins with “it’s true that fresh air is good for the body” (from Frank O’Hara’s poem “Ave Maria”) and ends with “this is our body” (from Gary Snyder’s “The Bath”).

Day 24- Write a poem that’s different in some way from anything you’ve ever written. Take a chance! Be wild!

Day 25- Write a poem that includes all of the following words: pistachio, ink, pebble, weather, varnish.

Day 26- Gather some magazines/catalogs you don’t mind cutting up and spend ten minutes flipping through them looking for words/sentences that spark your interest. Cut out the words as you go, and (at the end of the ten minutes) arrange the words to form a cut-out poem.

Day 27- Begin with the title “The Poem I’d Never Write.” Then, write that poem.

Day 28- Visit a virtual art gallery and look around until you find a piece that intrigues you. Write a poem inspired by the artwork.

Day 30- Write a poem employing extended metaphor to illustrate the experience of the last thirty days.

I Got Sick & Tired

"Never take someone for granted. No matter how much they love you, people get tired eventually.".

And eventually I got tired after so long, having people from this outlet calling to get stuff. Never have they offered to come get the stuff they wanted, and the only time they actually sent stuff over was when they were forced to do so. Then it was a second time they were forced to do so and they actually had the nerve to get angry.

So I did ask you not to order the stuff as I already had some that was not going to be used. But if you made an order to your side, you eventually will push the extra cakes to my outlet. Then again you would ask me to go get it, but I wouldn't because it's your stock you need to clear, and you should send it to me. Well you can say you wouldn't send it over and just sign it off and all, but let me remind you of the times when you were in need of stock and no one came to get it from my outlet. Rather I had to send it there.

Seriously is it that hard to make the effort to come get the things you need? My outlet might be out of the way, I might have my own transportation, but that does not mean that you should just assume I would send everything u want over to your side.

I wouldn't mind it so much if people there actually asked nicely like "could you send it to us?" or "if (the delivery) uncle is heading to your side, pass it over through him?". What I get instead is "you free you send over lah, not urgent", or "we need quite urgent, when you can send over ah?". No matter how urgent or not, you should offer to get the damn thing yourself first, and let me offer to send it over. Not assume that I will send it over.

Now I'll just wait and see how long it will take for you to cancel the transfer of the soda water and scones your outlet requested. Then again, I doubt anyone would bother to call and tell me you don't need it anymore, none of you have the basic courtesy to. I doubt anyone would prove me wrong either.

Hope You're At Peace Now

For all the years you have suffered due to whatever reason, for the past week that made you decide to take your life, I hope you were happy at least during the last trip to Thailand. I hope that you at least enjoyed the friendship you had made with the few of us.

May you rest in peace now and your smile live on in our memories.

Goodbye Harmoko.

Remember When

"It's nice when someone remembers small details about you, not because you always remind them, but just because they care."

And I wonder why sometimes you remember things that I would never expect anyone to.

Accepting Who You Are

This topic came about while YC was trying to explain to me what the meaning of a certain Cantonese song was about. Basically the song's message was basically to accept the person your born to be.

It brought back a question that was asked to me - "Have I ever made an effort to slim down?". Usually my immediate answer would be no, and actually it's rather true as I sort of accepted my size after a while. But rather than just letting go and eating every damn thing in sight, mom did help bring me up with good eating habits which helped a lot when I had to change my eating habits again after finding out I had diabetes. Anyway, I never really tried losing weight, I just tried no to gain any more, and that helped. Then I don't know how or why, but I shed some bit of me somehow in size, and remained the same weight. So for those who knew me way back, they all wondered how I did it, and so do I really.

What I don't get is people who can't accept the fact that I've accepted myself as such. Seriously it's not easy growing up being one of the biggest people in class, yet I think over the years, the people that have surrounded me have helped me realise that being big isn't always a bad thing. It does help your self esteem when you're regarded as a safety net, to ward off bullies. I never thought of being a bully, and I ended up scaring the bullies away. So there was a good side after all. That's where I found out that it's really not the size that matters but your personality and character. And it was something that was reinforced thoughout the years, which definitely help build up to make me who I am.

Another thing I learnt was that if they can't be bothered to learn about you, their opinions don't matter. For the times when I was rather down in school, I got a call from a classmate, possibly having good intentions, but what she said ended up pissing me off as she didn't know what I was going through. If you called to see how I am and really tried to understand what I was going through, I might have been more open to what you wanted to say. But to call and lecture me on what is right and wrong regarding my absence was just asking me to dislike you more.

Thinking back to the question about losing weight, I was asked why I didn't want to after answering no. At first my answer was just a shrug, and that "I'm used to it". I realised that it's not because I'm used to it, or that I can't be bothered. The actual answer is because I've already accepted myself for who I am, and if you don't like who I am, you can really kiss my big arse for all I care.

Using Songs To Say What You Can't

Sometimes songs just have the right lyrics that just emulate how you feel, and I guess that's how the whole mixed tape thing came about. There are times when I do wish it's that easy as to send someone a song and get them to listen to it, to understand how I feel, to know what I want to say but just can't. Just like how sometimes the following song lyrics just play over and over again when I think of the ones in my life:

"I can be tough, I can be strong
But with you, it's not like that at all
There's a girl that gives a shit
Behind this wall you just walk through it
And I remember
All those crazy things you said
You left them running through my head
You're always there, you're everywhere
Right now I wish you were here"

"I like the way you misbehave
When we get wasted
But that's not why I love you
And how you keep your cool
When I am complicated
But that's not why I love you"

"You're so beautiful
But that's not why I love you
And I'm not sure you know
That the reason I love you is you
Being you
Just you
Yeah the reason I love you
is all that we've been through
And that's why I love you"

"When a girl asks a guy to listen to a song, it’s because the lyrics are all the words she’s afraid to say."

Well, other than being afraid, the other time would be when I'm too pissed off to say a thing without having tears running down my cheeks.

"Been seein' to much of you lately
And you're starting to get on my nerves
This is exactly what happened last time
And it's not what we deserve
It's a a waste of my time lately
And I'm running out of words
If it's really meant to be
Then you can find a way to see
Maybe you should just shut up"

"When you're gone
The pieces of my heart are missing you
And when you're gone
The face I came to know is missing too
And when you're gone
The words I need to hear to always get me through
The day and make it ok
I miss you"

Now I wonder if someone might just try to get me to listen to a song for something they can't express through their own mouth.

Wish You Were Here

I can be tough, I can be strong
But with you, it's not like that at all
There's a girl that gives a shit
Behind this wall you just walk through it

And I remember

All those crazy things you said
You left them running through my head
You're always there, you're everywhere
Right now I wish you were here

All those crazy things we did
Didn't think about it, just went with it
You're always there, you're everywhere
But right now I wish you were here

Damn! Damn! Damn!
What I'd do to have you here, here, here
(I wish you were here)
Damn! Damn! Damn!
What I'd do to have you near, near, near
(I wish you were here)
I love, the way you are
It's who I am, don't have to try hard
We always say, say it like it is
And the truth, is that I really miss

All those crazy things you said
You left them running through my head
You're always there, you're everywhere
Right now I wish you were here

All those crazy things we did
Didn't think about it, just went with it
You're always there, you're everywhere
But right now I wish you were here

Damn! Damn! Damn!
What I'd do to have you here, here, here
(I wish you were here)
Damn! Damn! Damn!
What I'd do to have you near, near, near
(I wish you were here)

No, I don't wanna let go
I just wanna let you know
That I, never wanna let go
Let go oh oh

Damn! Damn! Damn!
What I'd do to have you here, here, here
(I wish you were here)
Damn! Damn! Damn!
What I'd do to have you near, near, near
(I wish you were here)

I Wonder ... Wonder.... Wonder

It doesn't take a genius to figure out all the weird hints she was dropping, especially not after hearing you answering that I'm the one someone else has been talking about.

From all the weird things shes been saying, I can only figure out that you and your friends have been assuming that I've actually been going after you. So now I wonder what other twisted ideas you all have conjured up.

Maybe you just never had anyone pay any attention to you?

All Done In Less Than 1 Minute

I get to vote FINALLY and it happened so fast, that I still don't understand why other people grumble that it's a chore. It took me longer to park the car than get through the whole voting process all because some taxi driver decide to block the road.

Anyway... I hope my vote helps.

Good Luck to the next President.

Do you feel what I feel, too?
Do you need, do you need me?

That the reason I love you is you
Being you
Just you
Yeah the reason I love you is all that we've been through
And that's why I love you

Essential In Life

Saw this as one of the tweets by TheNotebook on Twitter:

"Never reject anybody in your life, because good people give us happiness & bad people give us experience. Both are essential in life"

A few of my best friends popped instantly into my head. Then only in the next few thoughts did MJ come into mind. It wasn't the fact that I was evaluating my best friends first, but it was some things that Amy has been mentioning about someone whom I'm still weighing in.

As mentioned in previous posts, I usually gripe about people to Amy and this time is no different. However, what I find strange this time is that she has been telling me not to get too close to this certain person and doesn't really like that idea that I'm still alright being friends. Funny thing is she has never met the person and yet she has strong objections. I'm not sure if she's trying to save me from impending heartache and sorrow? Oh the drama!

But honestly, I don't know if she's right, but for now, my decision is that I will stick with my gut and see where this friendship leads to.

So there was that one bad person, well there were quite a few but just this one epic case, that pissed me off so much that I hope at every turn I do not see him ever, as I really don't now how I would react. Probably I'd just turn and walk away, but then again, if I was in the company of Amy, she might just kill the bugger? Hahahahaha! Oh yes, I do have HAPPY thoughts about her killing some people.

Just like the quote said, "bad people give us experience". And so far, that one experience has lasted me quite long. Doesn't mean I'm looking for more experience. No. I rather not go through that shit again, which Amy thinks I will if I continue with the one I'm weighing in. But if it does happen. Oh Well.... It'll just be another mark in my life.

10 Days Till I Make My First Vote!

Who to choose? I honestly don't give a crap right now. I might read all the write ups coming in the next few days, I might just go in and just pick the one the pen lands on.

FINALLY
I get to Vote!

Good luck to the next President Tan.

Reflections

Seems like some people never change. It's been a year since I left the place, and still the attitudes of the staff there have not changed. Not only are they still taking their own sweet time to get things done, they still take things, and people, for granted.

While bitching to my other close friends about what happened, Adi mentioned something that hit the nail on the head. Not to mention, the very same thing was broadcast on the show Undercover Boss - that the "attitudes of the staff are a reflection of the manager's". Which, looking at the attitudes of staff from different outlets, you do realise that they do tend to follow the manager's quite a bit.

After helping out at a few outlets, I realized that there's one outlet that have almost crazy staff now that the manager is also a big joker, while they were a bit more uptight with rules under the previous one. Then there is another outlet's staff that are rather laid back, chatty and easy going, even when the place is fully packed and busy. Somehow their attitudes also seem to rub off on their customers as well.

Then comes this one outlet, and the reason why there's no change or improvement goes back to the manager. It was probably why I wanted out of that place because if you can't change what is bringing you down, then you have to leave! So since staff there can't be bothered to improve themselves, or work harder, or try to speed up their service. Basically, they're cocky - thinking they're the best, that their efforts are always good enough. When there's feedback, they don't even see that it's a problem with them and rather think that the customers are all impatient and bitchy.

Yes there are times when the customers are just pissy about everything, but if you actually listen and take note of what the customer is trying to tell you, you'll realise that sometimes there's a flaw in the system. Could the flaw be rectified? DEFINITELY! However they rather cover thier arses, and make all the excuses they can find, rather than try to improve. Sometimes you have to put yourself in the customers shoes and see if they were being bitchy or that the service was really crap.

Honestly for that day, the service was crap as a salad came out before iced water. Worse still, a sandwich came out before 2 glasses of wine. Really? You still want to make excuses for your staff and insist that the customer was being a bitch? The bar might have a lot of orders but that doesn't mean the kitchen was just waiting for orders, had salads all ready & waiting in the fridge, or had sandwiches pre-made waiting to be toasted.

So you've always said you don't like other outlet's staff coming around and changing things, but I think it's high time you look at your attitude that is rubbing off your staff, that they give excuses because you give excuses. They've gone cocky because you've been cocky by saying that customers are bitchy and so no matter how badly you do, it's just that the customer is having a bad day rather than it being lousy service rendered.

Wake Up & Smell The Bull Shit!

Who's Reading This?

I haven't been blogging much lately, let alone editing the blog. Then I decided to update some links in I had and that's when I finally got an answer to a something I've wondered about for quite some time - "Who's reading my blog?".

Finally I get to the tab about the traffic flow to the blog and I find out who actually visits quite often, and that honor goes to Ms UbeRFan!

I also found out that a certain picture has led quite a few people to the blog, and definitely the link on my FB profile does its job for some people.

It also gets interesting to know that site visits are rather high on certain days. Probably some people just keep coming along trying to find out things they don't dare to ask, hoping that I've already blogged about the issue.

Oh well... stay tuned for more I guess.
