While shopping for groceries, my sister and I spotted the sushi counter in Woolworths and thought we would get something to eat from their display fridge. The pickings there are not as varied as what we have in Singapore, but they were definitely more interesting and all have a typical Australian fusion twist to them.
My sister bought Fried Chicken Maki which had crispy garlic toppings, and a tray of assorted sushi. I chose the Smoked Salmon Roll and Spicy Tuna Roll (very American), both wrapped in rice paper instead of rice. The smoked salmon roll was quite nice and a really refreshing change from the usual pork or prawn rolls. The tuna roll was not as nice as the tuna did not have enough flavouring in them, let alone spice. However, I just love my rice paper rolls and still enjoyed them both.
Om Nom Nom....
