After yesterday's meal at McDonalds, dad now wanted to give Hungry Jacks a try. Burger King in Singapore is the equivalent and it has better, but not the best, burgers in the Singapore fast food scene. Today, it Hungry Jacks for a late lunch and dad is set on comparing their burgers to McDonalds. I just wanted to try anything new and found it in their Angry Onions and the Quad Stacker Burger. Dad went the regular route of a Whopper with Onion Rings.
The burgers here are definitely done better than the ones back in Singapore as the beef patties are juicy enough that you can taste the fatty beefy goodness. However compared to the burgers we had yesterday, the cheese here tasted a bit gummy and felt a little gummy. Given that there are a lot of quality cheese producers here, and even the cheapest cheese are really nice, I'd say the cheese Hungry Jacks uses needs to be changed.
What does not need any changing is their Angry Onions. They are just battered onion pieces tossed with something spicy (most likely chilli powder) seasoning. They taste like the onion rings, with a much gentler bite as it is not crumbed, and with a nice kick at the end. I'd probably come back to Hungry Jacks just for these.
Om Nom Nom...
