He Actually Cooks!

Shane invited us over to his place for dinner as he had been craving his Chilli Chicken and Karmei's Portugese Chicken Rice ever since he was telling us about it the last time we were there. As they didn't want to make the food too early (as everything gets cold real fast in this weather), we got there in time for the 2nd tray casserole of the Portugese rice mix to be popped into the oven, and for Shane to start cooking his Chilli Chicken. It was a simple dish, just chicken chunks cooked in his mom's Sambal Belacan mix, so it was actually close to Sambal Chicken with no onions.

This would actually be the first time Shane has cooked something for me to try, and make something that was not just popping a bag or box into the oven or microwave. Since we already used Aunty Nene's Sambal before, I knew the dish would be nice, unless he made a real big mess of seasoning. Good thing he did not mess with it too much, and it turned out to be a really simple and lovely dish that went perfect with the baked rice.

Om Nom Nom...
