Dad is not a big fan of fast food, especially since the fast food in Singapore isn't the best and there was always better local food to try in the countries he has travelled to. This trip has been the one where he has been trying a lot of fast food while we are exploring, and do not want to sit down at a cafe waiting for food, or pay too much for a meal we most likely can't finish.
Today, I was craving for a burger and it so happened that a McDonalds was along the way home. I asked him to give the burgers here a try as they are totally different from the ones we get in Singapore and he finally gave in when he saw something with bacon in it. We tried the Grand Angus, and the Mighty Angus, together with a Crunchy Noodle Chicken Salad. The burgers were great, nice and juicy, and the cheese did not taste too fake. Best thing of all was that the bacon was actually from a pig and not made from turkey or a cow.
The salad had a bit of a problem right from the start. The counter staff kept asking the kitchen crew to pass it to her, and it took about 4 requests before it happened. Then upon opening it, I find no noodle! I honestly couldn't be bothered to wait through another four hollers from the staff to get the fried noodles and ate it anyway. I think they gave me the Asian soy dressing and it went really well with everything in the bowl that was missing the crunchy noodles.
Most importantly, dad enjoyed his burger, and actually found the chicken in the salad nice. Guess he finally found something good about McDonalds.
Om Nom Nom...
