Going Inland

The weather was much better today and I had told dad that I planned to look at an area slightly more inland and a little up north. It was an hour's drive away, but it looked like everything might be clustered quite closely together, therefore making it rather easy to get to everything. We started out in an area called Bindoon, and first visited the Op Shop, as that would be the location of the "Taste of Chittering" event that I plan to visit. The one thing that we love about the area are the unmanned stalls selling oranges and mandarins, and sometimes a few more fruits and vegetables. This area is known for it's citrus fruits and we were definitely there when oranges were ripening as we saw rows and rows of orange-dotted trees along our drive.

Later on we drove to the Chittering area and had a taste of the wines from the few vineyards that were there. Most of them were family-run and the cellar doors were quite small compared to the ones in Swan Valley. Briar even has 2 dogs greeting you when you park, and one of them even gets you to play fetch with him.

We ended our little trip further up north in Gingin, but didn't get to the Gravity Discovery Centre in time. What we did have at West Coast Honey was honey ice cream, which felt like clouds of cold whipped honey just evaporating on your tongue and liquid honey just slides down your throat.
